Goodbye to the Gerald Desmond: Long Beach’s old bridge is being demolished

Following the completion of Los Angeles’ new Gerald Desmond Bridge (now renamed the Long Beach International Gateway) in 2020, the decommissioning of the old Gerald Desmond Bridge has taken a major step forward with the lowering of the main span.
