About this Project
The Trillium Line Extension is a CAD1.6 billion PPP light rail project in Ottawa. Under the project, SNC Lavalin provide financing, design, construction and maintenance for the project. The CAD663m (HK$3.7b) construction project involves:
- Construction of two new stations and the extension of five station platforms on the existing Trillium Line to accommodate longer trains with additional capacity.
- Four new stations along the new extension and two new stations along the 4-kilometre Airport Link (16km of track in total).
- Construction of a new Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF).
- Delivery of new municipal infrastructure, including two new pedestrian bridges to improve connectivity along the alignment through multiuse pathways (MUPs).
- Maintenance of both the existing Trillium Line and the extension for 27 years.
- Refurbishment of existing rolling stock and provision of seven new trains.
CDC were appointed by the design team to prepare a claim for late design approvals and client impacts to the design process.
