M+ Museum, West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong

High-end architectural building
  • Client: Permasteelisa Group
  • Value: HK$5.9 billion / US$750 million

About this Project

The M+ Museum is Hong Kong’s new museum of visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The building was designed by Herzog & de Meuron with TFP Farrells. CDC provided claim research and drafting services to the curtain walling subcontractor on this high-end architectural building.  The curtain walling comprised a unique design of precast concrete panels integrated with cast in-situ terracotta tiles. The issues related to technical interfaces between the various elements of facade, specification deficiencies, delayed access to the works and revised construction sequence.  CDC provided further independent advice on specific contractual issues.
