Trillium Line Extension
CDC were appointed by the design team to prepare a claim for late design approvals and client impacts to the design process.
Fullerton Hotel, Ocean Park, Hong Kong
CDC provided EOT claims preparation, contract advice and negotiation support to the contractor throughout the project construction. CDC also presented issues to the Client and architect to negotiate the EoT assessments during the course of the project.
MTRC Shatin Central Link – Contract 1123, Exhibition Station and Western Approach Tunnel
CDC provided claims preparation and negotiation support to the contractor on this target cost contract, part of the Shatin to Central Link Project – North South Line. The North South Line (NSL) is a 6km extension from Hung Hom Station across the harbour to Hong Kong Island with two new stations at Exhibition and Admiralty
Hong Kong International Airport, Gate Transformation at Terminals
CDC were appointed by the Contractor to review various issues on design liability and various other contractual issues during the currency of the project.
Tuen Mun Columbarium and Garden of Remembrance
CDC was appointed to provide claims recovery and income management services to the contractor for the Tuen Mun columbarium. The columbarium will help to alleviate the acute shortage of burial space in Hong Kong by providing 160,000 niches in an eight-storey columbarium building along with a 4,800 square metre Garden of Remembrance.
East Kowloon Cultural Centre, Hong Kong
The East Kowloon Cultural Centre consists of a three-storey building housing three studios with capacities ranging between 120 and 250 seats, a 1,200-capacity auditorium, 550-seat theatre and under stage area, semi-basement areas for plant rooms, and other ancillary facilities. The project also houses a large rehearsal room, two connectable rehearsal rooms and a restaurant.
Hong Kong International Airport, Third Runway Reclamation Works
CDC was appointed to provide a contract review with regard to a subcontractor undertaking ground stabilisation to the new third runway reclamation works following termination of the subcontract.
Urban Renewal Project
CDC provided claims and delay analysis advice to the project team to strengthen the negotiation position for the project. The project comprises the construction of two towers with a total of 493 residential flats on a three-storey podium.
Gerald Desmond Bridge
CDC provided contractual advice, claims management and claims preparation to the international joint venture contractor for the project. The project comprises a high-level cable stayed bridge with two 150m tall towers supporting a 300m main span over the entrance to the Port of Long Beach California, two 500m backspans and 900m approach viaducts and will carry 15% of all goods coming into the USA.
Samuel de Champlain Bridge
CDC undertook a commercial claims review of the existing recovery strategy and advised the senior management on options to improve the Champlain Bridge project’s commercial position.
Passenger Crossing Boundary Facility Hong Kong Macau Zhuhai Bridge
The Hong Kong Macau Zhuhai Bridge project is a 55km long bridge and tunnel system across the Pearl River Estuary. The Hong Kong Passenger Crossing Boundary Facility is situated on a reclaimed island on the north coast of Lantau.
Stonecutters Bridge
Stonecutters Bridge is a 1,108m main span cable-stayed bridge over the entrance to Hong Kong’s container terminal (currently the third longest in the world). CDC acted for the contractor managing the complete commercial claims function throughout the construction.
Tseung Kwan O to Lam Tin Tunnel
CDC were appointed to prepare a strategy paper to identify recovery options for time and cost on the main tunnelling and lining works for the Tseung Kwan O to Lam Tin Tunnel project.
Ocean Park Water World, Hong Kong
CDC provided claims preparation and contract advice to the contractor throughout the construction phase of Ocean Park Water World project. The project involved construction of a state-of-the-art all-weather water park at Tai Shue Wan, Hong Kong incorporating 27 indoor and outdoor attractions and all E&M fit out.
Tuen Mun 54 Housing Authority Development
CDC provided claim research and drafting services to the main contractor for the Tuen Mun 54 public housing project comprising of five blocks of 4,400 flats and a commercial and community centre in Siu Hong, Tuen Mun.
Harmony Redevelopment (Lee Garden Three)
The Harmony Redevelopment project (now called Lee Garden Three) in the heart of Causeway Bay’s retail and commercial district comprised construction of a 27-storey commercial building with a five floor retail podium and underground parking.
M+ Museum
CDC provided claim research and drafting services to the curtain walling subcontractor on the M+Museum’s high-end architectural building. The issues related to technical interfaces, specification deficiencies, delayed access to the works and revised construction sequence.
Tolo Highway Widening
CDC provided advice to the Contractor in relation to a dispute regarding contractual interpretation for formwork finishes on the Tolo Highway widening project. CDC advised on appointment of experts, presentation of the claim as well as drafting the statement of clam for a mediation hearing.
Black Point Power Station
CDC provided claims and income management services to the civil works contractor for the Black Point Power Station Combined Cycle Gas Turbine project. The development is part of the Hong Kong government’s effort to replace older oil generation units with cleaner gas turbines to improve the territory’s air quality.
